Terms of Service
These Terms are the contract between you and Bettr World Limited for the Bettr platform, including previews, the studio, share links, live embeds, and paid plans.

1. Agreement
By creating an account, starting a preview, opening a share link, checking out a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you use Bettr for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" includes it.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the fees and plan shown at checkout (or in a written pilot we both accept) are the whole agreement. If a signed pilot or order conflicts with these Terms, the signed document wins for that engagement only.
2. Who we are
The Service is operated by Bettr World Limited ("Bettr", "we", "us"), New Zealand. The production site is www.bettr.world. Contact info@bettr.world.
3. The Service
Bettr lets you submit a public website URL, generate a branded chatbot preview, adjust appearance, sync publicly available pages into a knowledge base, review transcripts and usage for your project, and share a studio link. Paid plans and approved pilots can unlock a live embed for your own website.
Conversation allowances, knowledge-base limits, branding removal, and embed access depend on the plan in effect. Each subscription includes one seat. Features described as coming soon are not part of the Service until we make them available.
4. Who may use Bettr
The Service is for organisations and professionals. You must be able to form a contract. You must not use Bettr if you are under 16. You are responsible for teammates, contractors, and anyone you allow to use your account, share links, or embed.
5. Accounts and teams
You can sign up with email or Google. Keep credentials confidential and tell us promptly at info@bettr.world if you believe an account is compromised.
An organisation account has one seat, the owner. Additional members are not available yet. The owner is responsible for the account and for anyone they allow to use share links or the embed. Someone who accepts an owner invite is bound by these Terms when they create an account or use the Service, as described in section 1. There is no separate terms step on the invite page.
6. Previews without an account
You may start a preview before you create an account. We store an httpOnly cookie (bettr_anon_session) for about 90 days so the same browser can reopen that preview. When you sign up or sign in, you can claim previews tied to that cookie into your account. If you use another browser or clear cookies, we may not be able to restore an unclaimed preview.
We may delete unclaimed previews that are not attached to an account.
8. Your sites and content
When you submit a URL, we may fetch publicly available pages, read branding such as titles, colours, and logos, discover sitemaps, and store that material in a knowledge base used by the chatbot. Do not submit URLs for sites you are not allowed to use this way, private systems, or content that includes personal information you are not authorised to provide.
You represent that:
- you have the rights and authority to provide the URLs and content;
- doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights or break a duty you owe (including confidentiality and your own privacy notices); and
- the content is not unlawful, and is not malware or anything designed to disrupt the Service.
You keep ownership of your content. You grant Bettr a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, modify as needed for formatting, display, and transmit that content only to operate the Service for you, including sending it to the subprocessors named in the Privacy Policy. The licence ends when the content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we must keep for security, dispute, or legal reasons, which we keep only as long as those reasons require.
9. Chatbot outputs
Bettr generates chatbot replies from the project's configuration and retrieved material. Replies can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. They are not legal, financial, medical, or official advice, and they are not a decision of your organisation unless you choose to treat them that way and accept the consequences.
You are responsible for reviewing knowledge sources, for how the bot is described on your website, and for decisions you or your visitors make based on replies. Bettr does not use your content or visitor conversations to train models that we own.
10. Your website visitors
If you embed the chatbot, or if you let visitors use a preview, you are responsible for the relationship with those visitors. You must give them a clear notice, before or when the chat collects information, that covers what the bot does, what is collected, and that messages are processed by Bettr and its providers, including outside New Zealand. The widget can link to a privacy page URL you set. You may also link to our Privacy Policy.
For visitor messages, you decide the purposes of the bot. We process those messages to provide the Service on your instructions, as described in the Privacy Policy. You must not use the bot to collect sensitive information from visitors unless you have the right to do so and your notice says so.
11. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- access another customer's project, account, or share link without authorisation;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, except under a written test we have agreed in advance;
- reverse engineer the Service except to the extent New Zealand law allows that and cannot be waived;
- overload the Service, bypass plan limits, or resell access without our written consent;
- upload or generate malware, spam, or unlawful, deceptive, or infringing content; or
- use the Service to build a competing dataset of other customers' projects.
12. Plans and fees
Free includes studio preview and does not include a live embed unless we unlock one for a pilot. Hobby, Standard, and Pro are paid plans billed in New Zealand dollars through Stripe, monthly or annually, at the price shown at checkout. A paid subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it in the billing portal. Message credit allowances are limits on use of the Service, not a promise about answer quality.
Paid plans start when checkout completes. There is no card-required trial; Free is the free tier. Promo codes entered at checkout apply to the subscription according to their terms.
You can manage and cancel a subscription in the billing portal. Card numbers are handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer reference and subscription status, not your full card number. Cancelling stops future renewals. Paid features stay available until the end of the period already paid for, unless we end access sooner under section 20.
Fees are charged in NZD as shown at checkout, plus any tax Stripe calculates for the billing details you enter. If a payment fails, we may suspend paid features until it succeeds. Except where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 applies and cannot be contracted out of, fees already charged are non-refundable. We may still issue a refund or credit at our discretion, including where we have made a billing error.
We may change prices or plan limits for later renewal periods. We will give paying customers at least 30 days' notice by email or an in-product notice before a price increase applies to them.
13. Third-party providers
The Service depends on providers including Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Sentry (error diagnostics, when enabled), and Google (optional sign-in, and fonts loaded by your browser). Bettr runs replies, the knowledge base, and transcripts, including processing in Canada and the United States. Those providers' availability, and their own terms, can affect the Service. We are not responsible for outages or changes outside our reasonable control, and we will use reasonable efforts to restore the Service.
14. Intellectual property
Bettr and its licensors own the Service, software, branding, and documentation. These Terms do not transfer that ownership. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal operations and, on a plan that includes embed, to install the embed on websites you operate. You must not copy the Service, remove proprietary notices, or use Bettr branding except as the product displays it (including a watermark on plans that include one).
If you give us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information. You must comply with privacy law that applies to you, including notices to your visitors.
16. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by New Zealand law, we disclaim warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that chatbot replies will be accurate or complete.
17. New Zealand consumer law
The Service is offered for business purposes. If you acquire the Service in trade, you and Bettr agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, to the extent section 43 of that Act allows the parties to contract out of it. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including rights under the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be excluded, and guarantees that still apply where you are a consumer and section 43 does not.
18. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bettr World Limited is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or expected savings, whether or not we knew the loss was possible.
Our total liability arising out of the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim and (b) NZ$100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited under New Zealand law, or to liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
19. Your responsibility for claims
You will indemnify Bettr World Limited and its directors, employees, and contractors against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, the URLs you submit, your embed or visitor notices, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent the claim is caused by our breach of these Terms or our fraud or wilful misconduct.
20. Suspension and ending access
You may stop using the Service at any time and may cancel a paid subscription in the billing portal. We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms, if a payment is overdue, if we must do so to comply with law, or if continued access creates a security or operational risk. Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix a breach.
On termination you must stop using the Service and remove embeds. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and this sentence) continue. We will delete or de-identify personal information as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to records we must keep.
21. Changes
We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new date. If a change materially reduces your rights and you have a paid account, we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email or an in-product notice before that change applies to you, unless a shorter time is needed for security or legal reasons. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and cancel before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
22. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. The courts of New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not limit any right you have to bring a claim in another forum where the law does not allow that right to be limited.
